This notice explains how MTTlab S.r.l. processes personal data in connection with its public website at https://mttlab.eu.
Who is responsible for your data?
The controller is MTTlab S.r.l., registered office at Via Giacinto Gallina 5, 34122 Trieste (TS), Italy, VAT number IT01268640321. You can contact MTTlab about this notice or a privacy request at privacy@mttlab.eu, preferably using the subject “Privacy request”.
What the website does
The site provides information about MTTlab, its research capabilities, projects, publications, news, events and Scientific Advisory Board. Its Contact page does not contain a submission form. Choosing an email link opens the visitor’s own email application; no message is sent to MTTlab unless the visitor chooses to send it.
The public pages do not provide user accounts, newsletter subscriptions, a comment form, or an online registration service. The site does not intentionally use advertising, profiling or analytics tools in the inspected local build.
Data processed and why
Messages you choose to send. If you email MTTlab, the company receives the email address, name and any other information included in the message or signature. MTTlab uses this information to answer the enquiry and, where relevant, discuss a requested potential project or collaboration. The legal basis is taking steps at your request before a possible contract (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR) for a specific project enquiry, or MTTlab’s legitimate interest in responding to other business correspondence (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). If the discussion leads to a contract, related information may also be processed to perform that contract and meet legal obligations.
Sending a message is voluntary. If you do not provide a usable reply address or the information needed to understand your request, MTTlab may be unable to respond or assess it. Please do not email health information, other sensitive personal data, or confidential or proprietary project material. Contact MTTlab first to arrange an appropriate confidentiality agreement before sharing confidential project details.
Basic technical and security data. When a browser requests a page, the web server necessarily receives technical connection data such as the IP address, date and time, requested address, response status, browser and device information, and referral information where supplied by the browser. The site and its hosting and security providers may process server and security logs to deliver pages, maintain service security, diagnose errors and investigate misuse. A fresh staging inspection on 29 September 2026 observed LiteSpeed, PHP 8.4.25 and an IP address allocated to InterServer, Inc.; this does not by itself establish the contractual provider, processor terms, data region or retention period. Those details must be confirmed from the hosting account before production publication. The legal basis is the legitimate interest in operating and protecting the website (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR), subject to applicable law and safeguards.
Who may receive the data?
Access is limited to MTTlab personnel who need the information for the purposes above. Technical service providers, including the website host and providers involved in email or website maintenance, may process data on MTTlab’s instructions where necessary. Public authorities may receive data where disclosure is required by law. MTTlab does not sell personal data or disclose it to advertising networks for behavioural advertising. Where a service provider processes personal data outside the European Economic Area, MTTlab must use a transfer mechanism and safeguards permitted by applicable data-protection law.
Links to LinkedIn, ORCID, universities, partners and other external websites are ordinary outbound links. The local site does not embed their social widgets or load their pages automatically. If you follow a link, the destination provider processes data under its own privacy information.
How long is information kept?
Enquiry correspondence is kept while needed to answer and manage the enquiry and any related follow-up. If it becomes part of a client or supplier relationship, relevant records may be retained for the periods required by applicable accounting, contractual or limitation rules. Technical logs are kept for the period needed for security, troubleshooting and the establishment or defence of legal claims, in accordance with the hosting provider’s retention settings. Information is not kept longer than necessary for these purposes.
Your rights
Subject to the conditions and exceptions in applicable law, you may request access to your personal data, correction, erasure, restriction or portability, or object to processing based on legitimate interests. Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw it without affecting processing carried out before withdrawal. To exercise a right, email privacy@mttlab.eu with “Privacy request” in the subject or write to MTTlab at its registered office. MTTlab may need to verify your identity before responding.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Italian Data Protection Authority (Garante per la protezione dei dati personali) or another competent supervisory authority. Information is available at garanteprivacy.it.
Security and changes
MTTlab applies appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect information. No method of transmission or storage can be guaranteed completely secure. This notice may be updated when the site, its providers or its data-processing activities change. The current version will be available from the website footer.
